If the set took a power hit, it is unlikely to be a cold solder joint that is the problem. The most likely part will be the "jungle IC" which is what generates the signal to the CRT. Power hits are not nice to electronics. There is no "board" that can easily be replaced. This unit must be serviced at the component level. I'll check the service manual for hte most likely parts.

Try factory restore.if not solved by this then try this

High Voltage Capacitor? Leave the set unplugged for 1/2 hour most components will selfdischarge, as for your problem, you have one of two problems, the convergence I suspect is what is blown out, this unit probably uses STK392-110 Ic's, I would suggest replacing with STK394-160e chips as they are probably shorted, some of the big resistors (1 or 2) may be opened up also, usually they change color. The only other thing that would cause usually a yellow color in the corners is the CRT Fluid, it changes from clear to Orange in color and clamps off the blue color from the fringes, I suspect the chips need replacement, dont forget to put some heatsink dope behind them, they are usually on the left in the front of the set (from the back) Big long heatsink that is fairly tall (probably the biggest heatsink in the set.) Good luck, and the repair usually ru

check if u can the back pcb of the picture tube where the hose of picture tube is plugged.

may be the pins of that causing the problem.

TAKE ALOT OF CARE WHILE CHECKING or repairing the inside circuitry..

because the picture tube has very high voltage there, even in power off condition.

Base on the info you've given us, I'd first suspect bad connections that change the circuit characteristics. Resolder any connections that look grainy or have rings. Pay particular attention to the connections on the back of the CRT.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

The colors are controlled by a circuit board that is attach to the back of the picture tube. The parts that get affected by overheating are the transistors that are mounted on that same circuit board as well the high power resistors.

  • Jaime Hernandez Aug 13, 2008

I would also suggest to be very careful if you are going to do this work yourself because there is high voltage is excess of 200VDC getting to the transistors.

Have you even opened the TV yet?

We have given you the tips on where to check and what to do. If you still unhappy about, I would suggest to get a service tech to do it for you but that won't cost you $10.00 even if the tech only tells you what the problem is, will cost you more then that.

Here is a picture on that CRT board.

I have a toshiba 65hm167 no red color on the screen

Your TV is a DLP one lamp does it all, not like the old projection TVs with the Red, Green & Blue CRTs. Your TV may have a bad light engine or lose cable connections.

Good luck

Have a Toshiba TN55V71 whose color seems to come and go. Sometimes it is just pea greens, yellows, and blues. Other times, the color is flawless with brilliant reds and oranges. What gives?

That usually means the color wheel is going bad.
If you like the Tv and you are handy it is fixable. If you are not ready for that, give a repair man a call. It is worthe it.

Thank you for the chance to help.

Toshiba 57HX81: Green works but Blue and Red seem to be out.

Do you still have reds? Is the image still clear though discolored? If so you ought to replace the blue bulb which has most likely failed. The part no for the 57HX81 model blue CRT bulb is TOSHIBA     23008753.

Looking for a wiring diagram for a 2006 Ford Expedition

7way- black is 12volt (power), brown, running lights, yellow is left turn signal and stop light, green is right turn signal and stop light, white is ground, blue is brakes, and orange is aux power (can be back up lights, if trailer equipped w/ them). 6way is the same, minus orange wire. I have run into some variations to the above color codes (brown, yellow and green only-sometimes these 3 are different than stated, but only mixed as that group, as to what they control- example would be green is running lights, brown and yellow are turn signal and stop lights, the others should be as stated), if you have any trouble with things not working properly, it may be due to these variations, although the above are pretty standard. If you have an ohm meter you can check as you go (check for power at black wire- should be constant 12v, turn on turn signal and check for power-it will fluctuate from approx. 12 volts to 0 volts as the signal power pulses in the wire) hit the brakes, blue wire should show power, etc. Let me know if you need more help as you go.

the blue gun is not working properly which explains the dominance of green and yellow colors. you need to look after dry-joints on the blue gun circuit board, sometimes oil leakage from the lens may also affect the board

Toshiba TP50G50 Theaterview picture is double with red color only

Your alignment is off. Go to the set up menu then convergence. hit right and you will be in the convergence menu. select the color that is not in alignment. The green line does not move. if blue and green are lined up the line will be cyan. if red and green are lined up the line will be yellow. when all three are lined up the color will be light. Best of luck!
