2 days ago we bought a 94 Saab 9000 CD. It was revving high when we inspected the car but the owner said he didn't know why it was like that. Car does it when idling and drives ok. Yesterday after stopping at a set of lights the car revved even higher and the gears wouldn't engage. We don't know what to do now as we spent all our money on this car.

Take it down to autozone and use there portable computer and see what codes are in your
computer the counter person will be glad to help you hook it up and explain what the codes
are that's a good place to start

the battery first

Never go by how many years or miles are on something

If some module failed to time out, your battery goes dead in,
as you said, about 3 days & check if you left the interior lights on

1993 saab 9000 cse non turbo automatic won't shift

sounds like the brake interlock is not functioning check the fuse. when u start the car in aprk. it will not shoift untill u put your foot on the brake. its a safety intelock... possibly the interlock isnt functioning

1994 Saab Areo 9000 power locks will not work therefore cannot open gas door. Tried changing fuse but that didn't work

Check fuse #15 if you have not done so & check in the trunk for a manual over ride under the tool kit. The 90-92 models had one, not sure if your model does. I don't have a lot of info on the 94 A 9000-- Maybe a Saab expert will chime in with more advise.

The horn on my saab 9000/1990, stuck one day. pulled the fuse and replaced the horn. didn't help. Power at the horn but switch on steering wheel doesn't work. What would be your next move? Need it...

replace the contact in the steering wheel horn pad to repair

You have a bad bulb check relay. it is orange and located in the fuse box under the hood.

My Saab 9000 is dropping into second gear very hard.

If i were you i would get back to where you bought it as soon as posible, if he's any kind of dealer and with a reputation to uphold he will fix it for you, and you say he specializes on this type of car he most likely knows whats wrong with it.

i am sure that you have heard this already but it is the first thing that comes to my mind. take a look at you drive shaft and ensure that it is still in working condition. it sounds like it has slipped out and that is causing the motor to run and the car not too. let me know if this helps you out at all.
