I have the same problem as everybody else. My tv, went black after flashing red, 5 times. You have mentioned the probable cause as ,"y-sus board." I have called around and NOBODY knows what a ,"y-sus board", is. Is there another name for the board? Please help. Thanks.

First take the Batteries out of your remote control to see if the T.V. is still changing channels or not. If it stops changing the channels and volume, try opening the remote with a knife and clean all the pads with rubbing alcohol to prevent sticking buttons. Be careful if using a remote with a roller ball.
The flashing led is on the logic board and it indicates communication from the main bd to the logic bd via the lvds cable --your problem would best be analyzed by verifying the va - vs - ve - vset -and vsc voltages - then if all are good it could possibly be the y-main or the x main bds
The only simple fix fix for that may be an "ac boot", otherwise known as "unplugging for 1 minute, the plugging it back in. Sometimes the internal microprocessor gets scrambled and this *might* help. If not, there is an internal fault which needs attention from qualified personnel.

IF NO BURNING SMELL AND NO CRACKS ON THE FLAT I.C.`S ...TRY REPLACING THE Y-SUS BOARD...NUMBER ONE PRIME SUSPECT...DO NOT POWER UP SET WITH BACK OFF UNLESS YOU ARE QUALIFIED SERVICE TECH...JOE ACE
