I apologize, I purchased the software online, so there wasn't any "disks" to download. I've already donloaded the program, now the problem I'm having is to change operating system over to the downloaded 2007 student.

When you have the installation disk ,put it inside the drive and then reboot...
set the dvd drive as primary boot device ...
it will ask to press any key to boot from dvd..
on pressing it will lead you into series of steps that will install the 2007 student on your system.

thankyou

regards,...

I'm considering upgrading from the XP Home Edition installed on this system to Vista. Except for a BIOS update, the system is still the same as when I bought it in 2005. According to other information...

Yes looking at the specs of your PC it is defiantly possible in fact you could manage to run windows 7 on that machine also, it meets the requirements for windows vista and windows 7, good luck.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

Your operating system is corupted. you need to install a new one.

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.
