I HAVE A LEXMARK X2600 PRINTER SCANNER AND COPIER IM WANTING TO SCAN SOME PICTURES AND PUT THEM ON MY COMPUTER BUT IT ISNT ALLOWING ME TO DO THAT IT WONT SCAN THEM TO MY COMPUTER ANY SUGGESTIONS

The Lexmark X2690 printer is capable of scanning. You can refer to the Lexmark 2690 User's Guide for a more comprehensive instructions on how to use the scan feature.
Note: For scanning documents for editing, you will need the Lexmark OCR scan software installed on your computer. The scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, feel free to contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Using the printer operator panel to scan:

1. Open the top cover, and then load an original document facedown on the scanner glass.
2. Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image.
3. Make sure that the printer is connected to a computer, and that both the printer and the computer are on.
4. From the printer control panel, press Scan button.
5. Follow the instructions on the computer screen.

THE SCANNER WON'T SCAN.

It sounds like a scanner hardware problem. It would be best to contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Can you try to make a copy using the copy button on the printer operator panel? If you're not able to make a copy, it could be hardware problem in the scanner/copier system. You can try to unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. Then try to scan or copy again using the buttons on the printer. If problem continues, please don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.
