Can you go in and post on this forum and let other Hitachi TV owners know about the Class Action Lawsuit against Hitachi regarding the defective optical light engine. They need to call the Law Firm in Dallas Texas, HORP & B, that you mentioned is handling the case and talk to Victor @ 1-877-308-7900. They are taking documentation and cases regarding this suit and people that feel like they have been treated unfairly wherein Hitachi denied sending them a new optical light engine @ n/c need to call and state their case.

-   I have the Hitachi 50V500 which I purchased 3 1/2 years and for the last year I have a large red spot on the LCD TV and now will take 30 minutes before the screen will produce a picture. I called Hitachi and they stated I need a lamp. I paid $3500.00 that did not even last 4 years.-   Guest

Look you $2,000.00 somthing you what to get your money out of it.
I know and there are alot of other people out there who pay good money
can't go out and the next new model ever year.
Yes I what my TV fix and fix right and not pay for bad parts.
So Dum *** unless you work for Hitachi ******* or fix the TV RIGHT.

You can now stop calling Hitachi to get assistance. If you feel the need to sue for a TV that is 4 years old you are ignorant. This is unncessaary. I feel that if this was a defect in the manfacturing that the part would have failed with in the first year and not 4 years after owning the product. Get A LIFE!!

I have a Hitachi 50V710 with a yellow-greenish spot in the center of the screen. It appeared there about a year ago. I have been putting off getting it repaired because money has been pretty tight. And they told me that my warranty has expired. They also said that it would cost over a thousand dollars to fix the problem. I purchased the 50" TV 09/09/04 for a total of $3336.88 what a rip-off. Now the whole screen has a green tint and the yellow-greenish circle in the center looks brighter. I wonder if it is even worth getting it fixed? What will go wrong with it next? Its a Lemon.
I really regret not buying the 52" sharp that was setting next the piece of **** that got suckered into buying. I know I learned one thing out of this,
" I WILL NEVER BUY HITACHI BRAND PRODUCTS AGAIN! "

About two years ago, I had a small red blur in the middle of the screen. That red blur is now all over my screen. I called Hitachi and they said that there's nothing they can do about it because it's almost 4 years old and the warranty has expired. I called a repair shop and they said that it may be a light engine problem and it will cost about $1300 to repair. Might as well get a new TV for that. I did some research and found out that this is a common problem and that you need to be persisting when calling Hitachi and speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said that if a repair person confirms that it's a light engine problem, that they will send the part FREE OF CHARGE (just gotta pay for labor). They will only send a replacement once.
