Actually it is not able to delete the partitions when you are logged into windows....

try to disconnect the harddisk from the system(remove both the data and power cables) and then reconnect them again..

even if it doesnt work try the software called as PARTITION MAGIC

thankyou,.

Thedata recovery packis made up of two programs: Hetman Photo Recovery, Hetman Uneraser. You save up to 20% on the order price by buying the programs in a single package. The package allows you to restore important office documents, digital photos, archives, video and audio files, which have been lost by accidental deletion from your drive.

You can download the data recovery pack to assess its ability to restore your required data. Data from recovered files found following a hard disk scan is guaranteed to be restored, once you purchase the program.
Key Features:
· Restoration of information from internal hard disks and external IDE / ATA / SATA / SCSI disks and logical partitions, and restoration of USB storage media;
· Restoration of data deleted from memory cards for digital cameras, mobile phones, smartphones and PDAs;
· Restoration of files lost following formatting of logical partitions FAT and NTFS (supports NTFS compression);
· Restoration of data accidentally deleted from USB memory sticks (including manufacturers Jetflash, Apacer and Sony).

I have a Verbatim 500Gb (model #47566) hard drive. After defrag and clean up, when plugging in, I get a message that the disk in drive K is not formatted and would I like to format it now? I know that if I...

People often feel panic when I see this. If I format the drive, will I lose all my data? If not, how could I get access to my files?

My take is that you may have to format the drive (use quick format) and then use recovery software to recover your files.

Here's some information about file recovery, think you need to take a look, very useful

I formatted the c drive with an xp disk, but it is corrupt and will not allow me to reinstall xp pro, how do I get to the partition that has the factory OS so I can reinstall it

Try deleting the partition and then create a new partition on the unallocated space, then perform a clean install of win xp onto it if you want to fix corrupted partition issue. If you want to recover data from your previous partition, you have to use third party utilities. First select another partition from your hard drive, format it (if it mayn't contain important data), if it contains important data select leave the partition intact from the XP setup menu. After setup download a software names "Active file Recovery", use it to recover your previous c drive, and you are done, if you face xtra probs mail me to: gktareq2008@gmail.com.

MY C drive Booting drive is 30GB, in side c drive file properties is showing 20GB bt free space is showing 2GB

Its probably formatted not to use the entire space of the disk, is there another partition or "D" drive where your restore/backup stuff is? That could be take up the rest of the space. Hard disks are always described as being a certain size but can be formatted by windows tlo split up the drive into smaller chunks called partitions. Your C drive/partition might be way less then 30Gb therefore only showing up as 22Gb
