On my ps3 It won't let me play online or watch

Try changing the PS3 Sound output settings, check the cables leading to the console and TV, and if that doesn't solve it, watch another movie, then come back to the original. If it is one movie in particular, you may want to contact Netflix online at netflix.com/youraccount. Here, you can click the "Report problem" next to movies you've watched recently to tell Netflix about the issue.

Typically, this issue is resolved by logging into Netflix via PC and making sure the log in information matches the info on the PS3. Also, be aware that the standard package for Netflix allows only 2 devices to access Netflix from 1 account at the same time. For example, if you are watching Netflix on your PC in 1 room, and someone is watching it on a PS3, then you won't be able to access it from a Smart Phone or other devise, until 1 is disconnected from Netflix.

First make sure that your PS3 connects with your acces point eather wireless or with wire, te second step is configurate your PS3 for wire connection or wireless connection.
These settings are found under the network settings.
Also see the manual to see how you need to configurate the PS3 in detail.

Allso make sure when the PS3 is connected corectly to the acces point that the firewall of the acces point is not interfearing the connection.

This is because the Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance due to a recent hacking of their network. We are all still waiting for the Network to be fully restored, until then you cannot play and PS3 games online.

The Play Station Network is still down. It won't have full functionally again until around May 30, 2011.

If it's a Capcom game or an online based one it won't work because Playstation Network is down at the moment so there's no online play at all which can cause an error to come up. Hope this helps.

There has been a ps3 network outage.No online play or downloads are available.

Its not your ps3 or your internet.Contact playstation for further info.

If it won't play online what you'll need to do is set a static ip in your router for your ps3 and then open ports TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070 (you'll need to contact your router about that)

If it won't play AT ALL follow these steps ( http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=1488 ) to get into safe mode and select option 3.

If NONE of your PS3 games work and NONE of your blu rays work, your blu ray drive is fried and you'll need to get it fixed. You can go to: us.playstation.com/getservice to get it fixed.

This sounds like a problem with your Internet connection/networking.

Run the PS3's network test to get more information as to what is being restricted.

1. The hum you hear is probably the heat-sink fan, sometimes if you get some compressed air and use it in the bottom air vents it will go away.

I just want a little more info on the Netflix issue. Just to confirm I'm on the same page as you.
When you are trying to use Netflix are you using the PS3 web browser or signing into PSN?
The reason I ask is that in order to use Netflix on a PS3 you have to sign into the PSN with the email aand password you would use to play a online and the download the Netflix program from PSN, after install would then choose the Netflix icon and then use the sign on info required by Netflix. If you have done all of this, try doing a factory reset on your modem/router. I run Netflix on my console too and with the PS3 you won't need a authorization code to access your account.
