Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

Parts replacement We have a Hoover Steam Vac that has a broken part #10 in your picture or Part # 37271035. Does this part cover the whole top section of the Vac? Is it hard to replace? Where can you get the best prices on Hoover parts? I have been on Hoovers website and they don't even recognize this Steam Vac. which is hard to believe they don't even recognize their own unit? Thanks Ray

This the hood or top cover. There some screws on the bottom as well as on the top, then it comes off.

Install upper control rod

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

To attach the upper handle to your Hoover Steam Vac remove the clean solution tank (upper tank) from the deep cleaner. Then, attach the upper handle to the lower handle by pushing the upper handle down onto lower one. Use the provided bolts to secure the handles. Push the bolts into the accompanying holes on the front of handle. If the bolts do not go through the holes easily, your handle is not pushed completely down. When the handle sections are completely together, squeeze the trigger on the upper handle to snap the trigger rod into place.

There is no suction on the steam vac help

the srub brushes have 2 belts that run the beater and scrub brush. These are probably broken. A vacuum cleaner repair shop should have them. About 8 to 10 bucks to get replacement parts.

Spin brushes on Steam Vac

The cover is only secured by 3 screws. One on the top, and two other on the underside. The two on the underside are located on the black plastic and are deeply recessed. After removing these 3 screws, on the top there are 2 snap in post. Simply squeeze these posts inward, towards the center and the cover should lift off.

Hoover F7458900 steam vac brushes won't turn

No, there is a turbine that turns the brushes. You can take the top cover off to get to it, open it up and clean it out and then try it again. If that doesn't work, then replace it, or just replace it to begin with.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You cannot replace the spring loaded value on the soap dispenser – it is a whole assembly and would need to replace the entire tank, you can buy them new or sometimes a local vacuum dealer may have a good used one on hand and that would work as well – check the yellow pages for a local vacuum dealer or Hoover dealer for replacement of the part.
