My marantz SR 73 AV receiver produces sharp noise,( like in electrical arc welding) in one of its front channels while playing music clearly ! All other channels do not have this problem. Speakers produce periodical chit-chat noise that is very unpleasant and I fear it might blow my speakers. What is the problem? Somebody kindly give me solution for this.

my sound on my marantz av surround receiver sr5003 stopped working, i need help to restore it:

marantz SR 4003 how to reset (hard reset ) remove power plug from power .Take cover off locate ic 12 (24 c eeprom) short pin 5 to ground while plugging the power in .Unit will show clear on fl screen .if the unit trips again check channels.

Not sure that this will be possible, direct source will cut out any changes made by the amp, and as a cd is 2 channel stereo, it wont include the subwoofer. Try some of the other settings with direct source mode.

Let's break this into little pieces. Disregarding the TV, does the Marantz otherwise provide multichannel sound?

How is the TV-related audio getting into the Marantz? Analog RCA yields only 2-channel audio.

Two front speakers are only capable of two channel sound.

Component Video is a big step up the food chain in quality. Component Video inputs are for video only, not for audio. I don't see Component Video inputs on the Marantz SR-4200; only Composite and S-Video. S-video would be a step up from Composite and it carries analog stereo sound.

You don't give any clues as to the source's audio capabilities.

Digital Audio of either flavor is preferable. Grab the best possible TV-related audio from your Cable/Satellite box to the Marantz and run a pair of RCA audio cables to your TV just in case you want to watch the weather channel without hi-fi sound.

For resetting sr6001: When power lights blinking, press "clear" + "pure direct" + "7.1 ch input" simultaneously for 3 seconds.

please invert your cable and watch if the problem moved the problem in your cable change it with new one.from any radio shack near you or any electronic store.

I also have the same fault, The static noise is coming out
of ic720 [ cs4391 or cs4392 ]on digi pcb which is D-A converter
this ic maybe faulty, i have ordered a replacement ic and will
post here if solves problem
