When I make a call, a screen comes up with the mute selection hi lighted. I can't find anyway to unselect it and I didn't purposely select it. At one point my cellphone indicated that it was connected to my Motorola handsfree earpiece so I thought that might have something to do with it but even if I deactivate my bluetooth function the problem remains the same.
Can you help? I have only had the phone for about three weeks and don't know it well at all yet.
Set it on fire, or have it replaced, the company will have a warranty so I think the bonfire may be a good idea to hold off on, even tho with the irritation I would love to burn one just once. I had this happen but more embarassing than that, I was in the airport and the speaker phone turned on as well, so I was unable to tell my friend anything I had to hang up on them and txt them as the phone continued to do this till it was replaced

In Idle mode, press and hold # to silence or
unsilence your phone.
And To change Your Ringtone follow these steps !
Change your ringtone
Phone ? Settings 1. In Menu mode, select
2. Scroll to the profile you are using.
> Voice call ringtone ? Edit
While not in a call, simply press down on the volume keys (the first set of buttons on the right side of the handset) until the sound is off (this mutes actions like playing videos, apps, et cetera).
If you're trying to silent the ring, then highlight the speaker/sound icon on your handset's homescreen, select it with the optical trackpad, and scroll down to select the option "silent".
If you're in a call and you want to mute it so that the person on the other end of the line cannot hear you, there are two options: first you may select the mute option on the screen itself by highlighting it with you trackpad and selecting it. The simplest way, in my opinion would be to use the button located on the very top of the handset, to the right side. Depress this during a call, it's very easy and the screen will display whether or not this was successful.
May be your phone is muted.Go to settings then sounds and profiles in there you can find profile name normal.Select and edit it.When you edit that profile select the volume level to 7 for all. Then your sond problrm will rectify
To remove the sent message alert you have to change your keypad tones to mute. Go to the volume in the keypad tones in the phone profile and change it to mute. Only problem is you can't have keypad tones but they get on my nerves anyway! To stop the tone when you finish a call, go to call settings, all calls, call status tones and take off call end tone.
