Go to add/remove programmes and see if norton is in there, if so it is still installed but may need to repair, click on the right where it says remove and the option to repair or remove will appear, as long as you have the initial installation disc; insert and follow the the instructions.

Please note, after the reinstall/repair, you may have to update Norton, but your copy will still be valid as long as it is upto date

Norton 360 install has replaced/overridden DVD drive

Hi, I can certainly understand how you feel and hope I can help.

error 19 isnt necesarily a corrupt driver, it can be 2 drivers trying to use the same resource (as in norton's backup drive and your cd drive, for example)

Try this - Click the start button, right click on "Computer", select "Properties", then click "Device Manager" in the upper left hand corner.

Open the bit that says "CD/DVD Drives" and try right clicking on the drives there and selecting "Update Driver Software". This will probably do nothing. Don't worry, I didnt really expect it to. Now right click on the drives, and select "Delete" and then reboot. This will reset the drivers for ya.

This fix usually DOES work. Most of the time. If it doesnt work, try the ones below.
