Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
Yesterday I was away and I plugged my pc in to be charged of which was left on the charger for a minimum of at least three hours. For some strange reason all of a sudden I can't seem to get it to boot up, the lights across the top of the key board comes on but thats it. In fact I spoke with someone in technical support from HP last night. It was suggested that I detach both the battery and also the cord I had plugged in use for charging and I did that then I was asked to hold down the power button for a two minutes which I did and then plug back in the power cord and see if it boots up, and once again know function of my pc if you would please assist, I would greatly appreciate it.
Once you can try connecting the external monitor to the notebook and check the display on the external screen.
Conect the Desktop computer monitor to the notebook VGA port and press Fn+F4 to see the display on the external monitor, if there is display on the external monitor, then the issue is with the notebook screen.
If there is no display on the external then the issue could be with the motherboard itself.
If you send the notebook to HP, then you will be charged $398 for motherboard repair.
So, I suggest you to check at local service center, if they ask you for more than $398, then you can send it to HP by contacting Hp Chat support. Shipping charges includes in $398
