The remote fax machine might be defective.

Solutions
  • Try to verify this by sending the same fax to other fax machines. If these transmissions are successful, then notify the user of the remote machine to make them aware of the issue.
  • If the fax fails when sending to other machines, turn it off for 10 seconds, turn back on, and then try sending again.

No there is problem with slow sensor flaper and pick up, feed and separation roller, clean it all, you may need to change the sensor flapper.

Fax Will not send or receive.

Unplug the power cord for 10 seconds.

It is not detecting a dial-tone.

I have a dial tone, but cannot receive or send faxes

After trying everything, I reset the machine to factory settings (press Menu, then 7 for Maintenance). I then also changed the fax cable to the telephone socket. Despite a computer shop telling me that I need a BT to RJ11 cable (I think this is a modem cable), the correct thing is to use a simple telephone cable. The look exactly the same from the outside (both plugs), but apparently they are wired differently which may not be visible from the outside. Now it suddenly works again!

If you are using the phone while trying to send or receive a fax, it will not work.

There were some devices out that would allow you to do this, but they never really worked that well.

If you want to be on the phone, and send or receive a fax, you will need a second line for the fax machine, or you need to use a service like eFax (it sends a fiax like sending email)

Can't send out fax

the number you called does not answer or busy-you may have reached a number not connected to fax or it is connected and not activated in receiving mode-check the number and call again.
if you have a message "out of memory"there is no enough memory available to send your fax.press stop/exit print the faxes stored in the memory to delete them then try again.

Material I'm trying to send doesn't 'feed'

does it try to grab the paper?
do you hear anything happening before the beep?

The machine recognises that there is paper, then you should hear the communication, once it has the correct signal telling it the line is available for transmission it will feed the paper.

look at the tires and see if they turn to feed the paper, is there something in the way, do the tires turn,???

if yes clean with alcohol and try again, if the tires are too smooth then they need to be changed.

Cannot receive faxes or do copies

If you still have your old cartridge reinstall it that will tell you if it is the cartridge or not. If you still have the problem,it could be the encoder.
