Question about HP 4250 Monochrome LaserJet Printer

Printer won't pull from drawer 1

We recently upgraded to Leopard on our Macs and now the printer wants to pull from the envelope feed no matter what drawer we choose. I have tried resetting to factory defaults and that didn't work. Any suggestions? (We have lost our user guide)
Thanks

It says drawer one. I took it off auto. Anything else to check?

I think you are right. We used to use drawer 1 as manual feed and that doesn't seem to work anymore. I will try this today. Thanks.

You need to check the paper source settings in your printer driver (on your mac)

You need to select tray 2, tray 1 is the manual feed (envelope feeder)

Trying to print on a #10 envelope from iMac 27 with Os 10.5.1 using iWork. Printer will not load paper

I am on an iMac using OSX 10.5.8 and printing on an Epson R1800. With iWork, word processing module I set up the envelope to print and under the File menu, select page setup and choose #10 Envelope with Portrait orientation. I feed the envelope into the printer in the normal horizontal, top first, print surface up. In the File menu I select Print and hit Return. Most of the time this works. Sometimes the envelope feeds through without printing, and occasionally the envelope won't feed but the printer goes through the printing cycle. The R1800 is not the ideal envelope printer. It is made to print photos on photographic paper. I use an old fashioned typewriter to address envelopes.

Elite 20/600 not working with Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard broke Appletalk which is how many people connected a GCC printer to their Macs. You must reconfigure to LPD in the print and fax control panel and everything works fine. If you have difficulties please email jstrauss@gccprinters.com as we do not have this posted to the Web yet.

How do you print on an envelope? Where is the feeder for envelopes?

envelopes are generally fed through a "bypass tray" which flips down. Some models you have to open a cover in the back to "straight feed" through. Generally you have to tell the machine and the pc that you are printing to an envelope (usually type ten) on the machine you must find tray or drawer settings and on the PC you use properties on the drop down menu and choose media type

Airport Express, Bonjour Printing Does Work With Leopard

In the setup of the Airport network settings, you have to make sure that AppleTalk is actually turned on (or the box is checked). When using Mac's with Leopard and you use both the ethernet port and airport off and on, the OS tends to deactivate AppleTalk. Its not a set thing, just random.

Cannot print odd-sized envelope with 4250 LJ

I got to HP tech support, and they tell me that the envelope feeder is intended only for a few standard envelope sizes. If we're trying to use a different sized envelope, as in this case, it must be fed manually, and the feeder bin will not work. So that answers that. Thanks for the help, though.

Can't print to 1410 after I upgraded to Leopard

You need to update your printer software. Download and install from this link;

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-58037-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=441115

Once it is installed I suggest that you open system preferences (found by clicking the apple in the top left) and go to print and fax and delete and readd the printer so it will pull from the most recent drivers.
