Board has all lights are red, fan is running but not as fast as it used to, lcd light on front of computer not working, no video showing up either....this board is only a few weeks old running a triple core amd athlon2 x3 I tried using 2 other power supplys and same thing is happening. I tried pulling the memory and cpu to see if the board would beep or blink light and still nothing.. all lights remained as if board was trying to boot regular. not sure what the problem is!?

ok,..i tried everything you suggested ...It must have been a loose cable or something. It did start up for a bit but then I was getting a cmos battery error. So in the midst of trying to fix that (resetting cmos and what not) I tried turning it back on and got the same problem. I took the whole thing apart, tested the motherboard and put it back together but still having the same problems. I tried switching out PSU and same thing, tried changing cables and samething.....im at a loss! HELP! :)

Neither is the problem,...rechecked and replaced all cables,...also tried 3 different power supplys. I'm thinking is the cpu or board. They are both brand new though. could be the board cause normally if you turn the board on without ram in it will beep or board lights will flash, I'm getting neither. the board lights up like its running normal? Don't get it!

even something as small as a faulty power lead or a faulty fan i noticed you said that the fan was not running as fast as it used to and the power light on lcd on front of computer is not working trace all of these leads and make sure each connection is secure even the electrical extensions and you said you replaced the leads from motherboard to the hard drive with new ones also make sure they are seated properly like i said earlier a computer needs to complete its cycle and to have an end to work so any faulty lead will end in computer error

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Hello,

You may have a faulty video card. Test this card with a know working pc. If your video is embedded on your main board, try using a PCi video card.

Only comes on for a second power light blinks red 4 times, stops then repeats

4 times standby red light blinking is an error code that shows that Fan problem in tv. Check following possible causes of that problem in tv:
1- Fan 1-4 power is not supplied. (AGU board).
2- Fan caught wires or harnesses.
3- Fan connector is not attached securely.
Thanks.

Hi, I have an xbox that shows orange on power brick..When I turn the console on, the fan runs for a sec or two, the power brick flashes green then console shows three red lights and power brick reverts to...

If you watch the power supply light it will probably
flash red for a 1/2 second then orange . And if
the fan shuts off then you have a shorted regulator and
it's normally the two closes to the Ring of lights P.C.
board plug . I have swapped those parts out before
but their tough to get of the board with out the right
tools ( reflow wand) the cost of repair shouldn't be
more than 60.00 -80.00 so shop around for the
best warranty.

Hi imkindacool, Sounds like the back light inverter board is bad. It's a very common problem. LCD's use four small cold compact fluorescent bulbs to back light the display. (thats what gives the LCD it's brightness allowing you to see it) The inverter board runs these lights and when they go bad they will typically show symptoms like you have or the monitor power light comes on and you have either no display or a very dim display. If you ever have one that has no display but the power light is on you can check by shining a flashlight directly into the LCD from the front (right into the screen) if you can see an image then it's either the inverter board (most likely) or the CCFL bulbs have gone bad. The inverter board and CCFL's are replaceable. Good Luck, El Duderino
