Where is the daytime running light module on a 2003 ford focus located?

Doesn't use a DRL module . Has DRL relay .
Symptom Chart Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The daytime running lamps are inoperative.
  • Fuse
  • Circuit(s)
  • Daytime running lamps (DRL) relay
  • Light switch
  • Go To Pinpoint Test A .

Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb/ Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine . Under system click on lighting , then under subsystem click on daytime running lamps . Click the search button then the blue links . Looking at the wiring diagram i see the DRL relay is located in the BJB - this is the fuse / relay box in the engine compartment . To see location under system click on electrical distribution ,then on junction block . picture of fuse box shows location .

After viewing the wiring diagram for the wipers , Change systems to electrical distribution , then click junction block . Then the search button an first blue link . Shows the relay position . The wiper switch is a input to the front electronic control module . The relays are also controlled by the electronic control module . Probably has code set in the module . You would need a factory scan tool to check this .

I need a wiring diagram schematic on a 2007 Pontiac g6 GT. The vehicle has a 3.5 litre engine. The diagram I need is from the AC clutch compressor to the air compression relay.

Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter vehicle info year , make , model and engine . Under system click on HVAC , under subsystem HVAC controls . Click the search button , then the second blue link is the one you want ! This system is pretty complex , pushing the A/C on button sends a request signal to the BCM - body control module , then the BCM sends a request message to the ECM - engine control module over the GMLAN serial data bus. Which then energizes the A/C clutch relay ! Hooking up a factory scan tool is the best way to trouble shoot this. Using the scan tool you would be able to see if the request signal is getting to the ECM an to see if the the ECM is controlling the clutch relay .

2003 Cadillac deville trunk randomly opens on its own when sitting and not running occasionally what could be the cause.

Do you know anything about automotive electrical testing ? how to read a wiring diagram ? How to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? You can find a free wiring diagram here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html

The trunk release is controlled by an electronic control moduel .
Trunk Release Relay
Output Controls
The rear integration module grounds the trunk relay when commanded ON. The rear compartment should release.

This vehicle has a very complex body control system of three different computers

The body control system consists of the following 3 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Instrument Panel Module (IPM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)
Each of the 3 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems under the control of a single module. Each module is connected to the Class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control functions are implemented by Class 2 messages.

. Rear Integration Module (RIM)
The various RIM inputs and outputs are described in the corresponding functional areas as indicated on the RIM electrical schematics.
The RIM functions include the following:
• Automatic level control
• CIGAR relay control
• Class 2 communication requiring RIM interaction
• Content theft deterrent
• Fuel door control
• Fuel level sensor input
• Heated seat control
• HVAC blower control
• LK/CYL relay control
• Park brake relay control
• Rear defog relay control
• Rear park assist chime control
• Retained accessory power (RAP) relay control
• Reverse relay control
• Transmission shift inhibit
• Trunk release relay control
• Various controls for the interior lamps

Luggage Compartment Description and Operation (General)
Rear Compartment Lid (trunk) release actuation is controlled by the following components.
• Rear Compartment Lid Release Relay
• Instrument Panel Module (IPM)
• Rear Integration Module (RIM)
• Valet Switch
• Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch
• Rear Compartment Lid Release Actuator
Battery voltage for the coil side of the trunk release relay is supplied through the Valet switch (with the valet switch in the OFF position) by the ALDL fuse located in the Underhood Fuse (Bussed) Block. Battery voltage for the switch side of the trunk release relay is supplied by the Body fuse located in the Rear Fuse (Bussed) Block. When the rear compartment lid release switch is momentarily pressed, it provides a ground circuit for the trunk release signal of the Instrument Panel Module (IPM). When the IPM senses that the switch has been activated, it sends a Serial Data Class 2 message to the Rear Integration Module (RIM). The RIM then provides a path to ground on the F/TNK DR REL relay control circuit. The trunk release relay is then energized, and battery voltage is applied through the switch side contacts of the trunk release relay to the rear compartment lid release actuator. The actuator is connected to ground through a ground splice pack located at the left rear corner of the rear compartment, near the left tail lamp connector.

2004 ford explorer when you turn the switch on the fuel pump fuse blows . i un pluged fuel pump it still blows . i went and un pluged fuel control module and it doest blow

Unplugging the fuel control relay or module will ensure no current is entering the wire heading towards the fuel pump. The likelihood is there is a short circuit somewhere along that part of the circuit though it is possible the relay could be faulty.

Ideally, with the aid of a circuit diagram, the wire should be traced from the source at the fuel pump module along its length until the fault is discovered. There is intelligent equipment available that can locate short circuits.

If you can't turn off the headlamp's maybe one of the relay's contacts or stuck closed . There are three relays , head , dimmer and DRL . I wouldn't go condemning the DRL control module before testing it .

Location of fuel pump reset

Hi going through a wiring schematic shows me that this car is not equipped with an inertia switch. There is simply a fuse, relay, engine control module, and the fuel pump in this wiring. This relay would be located on the right hand side of the dash. Here is an illustration showing the placemtn of the relay and the wiring.
The optima does not have a fuel pump reset switch, the fuel pump is controlled by a relay which is actuated by the engine control module...
