I may know the problem, but without the model number I can not be sure. Can you please post the model number? Also, when the set is on, does the standby light continue to blink?

Thanks,
Dan

Ok. Thanks for the update. Lets try the simple things first. I suspect that the picture tube is starting to fail. I am assuming that the standby light continues to blink. With the sound working, this is normal as long as the picture pops up in a few seconds. If not, then the next step is to turn up the screen control SLIGHTLY. If you open up the back cover, the flyback transformer will be seen toward the rear of the set. This is the part with the large red wire coming out the top. There should be 2 controls on this part. With the set on, turn the top one slightly clockwise. This should make the picture pop on. If it does, then you have given yourself enough time to search for a replacement set as this means that the picture tube is on its way out. If that failes to resolve the problem, let me know and we'll look further.

Problem for Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655. Hello,

5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655)
2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad.
Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Thanks.

Sony FD Trinitron WEGA

Here's my suggestion , unhook all the external components to the TV and leave the TV unplugged for more than a few minutes (a day/overnight). The next day plug the TV into the wall outlet (not the powerstrip) without anything hooked up to it, and turn it on. See if it comes on. Sometimes unplugging for a few minutes/hours is not long enough for it to reset itself.

Tv takes a minute to get picture

Greg , Sounds like a bad "jungle IC" but without knowing specific voltages it`s really hard to say, picture should show up in approximately 15 seconds not a full minute, it`s normal for the audio to be heard almost instantly way ahead of the video, part number for the IC is 875210104, generic number is cxa2154as, be prepared they are not cheap IC`s, I would probably run the set for awhile and see if it gets worse as time goes by. good luck
