Hi. I have a problem with my 42 inch plasma tv,when tv is turned on green L.E.D appears on bottom right and tv works as normal. After 40 minutes to an hour tv makes click sound and screen goes blank the green L.E.D changes to red on the bottom right there is still power going to the tv hence the red L.E.D.Then when i plug it out and plug it back in red L.E.D appears but screen remains off it stays like this for 3 to 4 hours before tv comes back on and the same is repeated again after 40 minutes or so.

Hello, A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed. This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot! Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
I hope that this help to rectify the fault of the projection TV....

One green vertical line in 42" samsung plasma tv mfd. last 2008

A thin line, like a pencil line, all the way from the top to the bottom is most commonly associated with the display itself.
In your case a 42 inch panel. These are no longer available from most manufacturers, and even if it were it would be cost prohibitive
Something like: Core Price 250.00 Part Price 1200.00
Total Price 1450.00
.plus about 150.00 shipping because it is considered oversized

I have a Phillips 42 inch Plasma. I tried

One of two issues/problems:
1) Main Power supply problem
2) High Voltage Power supply problem.
A Good TV Service Shop that works on Philips would be the first place I'd call. It will be much cheaper to bring the TV into the shop instead of having a tech come out to your location.
Possibly a $200 to 300 dollar repair.
Blessings,
A/V Media Guy
