Question about Canon CanoScan 5000F Flatbed Scanner
Hi- I installed a 5000f on my vista machine in order to use the positive film scan feature. It works fine on automatic but advanced features shows the 2 177 0 error. did the uninstall download and reinstalled the vista driver (toolbox) and the cs driver. also shows message saying maybe film not placed properly or the lamp not warm enough. not it.
Are there any other words along with the error?
Make sure the scanner is unlocked.
Does the scanner make any noise when you attempt to scan?
If possible, try the scanner on another computer.
Was the scanner working before?
What OS are you using?
Download the delete driver application and uninstall the drivers. Also, download the most current drivers and reinstall. You should also download and install the most current version of Toolbox.

I was able to install the CanoScan Toolbox by doing the following: MacIntosh HD --> Library --> CFMSupport --> Get Info. Under 'Sharing & Permissions', I added my name & changed 'Read only' to 'Read & Write' .
Problem now: I can't install the LIDE 30 Scanner Driver. I clicked on the downloaded driver & a box opened. I clicked on ScanGear CS Installer, but that didn't work. I then clicked on 'Into Plug-In' --> ScanGear CS 7.0X --> Choose Application --> CanoScan Toolbox 4.1 --> Plug-Ins, but couldn't continue as the 'Open' tab was greyed out. What should I try? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

"Link Scanned images to..." refers to the programme you want to open the file. Navigate to the .exe of your preferred viewer
