Hello
Check all the signal cables at the backside of your Vizio for firmness. If there is any loose or bad cable connection, especialy with HDMI; will poise this problem. Check the input selection also. If improper input selection is done, there will be no signal logo will fly around. If you have selected TV instead of HDMI, when HDMI is connected and you want to see the programme, is an example of improper signal selection. Check these. OK.

My sony rear projection kdfe50 has a blue hazy line at the bottom of the screen

If that blue hazy line is there in all inputs and no signal, you have a defective light engine. Contact Sony Customer Support because they extended the light engine warranty on some models.

Thin black vertical lines about 100mm apart, all the way across the the sreen exept for the first quarter of the screen whether there is a signal or not.

first reset the settings to factory default. if the lines persist, replace the power cord and plug it into a different outlet to make sure there is a proper ground. if they are still there, you have a main board issue.

Durabrand TV/DVD dct1481

The blue screen is fairly common and is displayed when inadequate signal is present.
In other words, 'no reception.'

The weak BBC1 signal is kind of a confirmation of your poor signal strength.

Blue screen on everything

Blue screen usually means no signal coming from the source. Did you accidentally hit the 'source' button on the remote, so it is now set to the wrong device (DVD player instead of the cable, for example)?
