IPhone 3g Dropped Calls

By eitan on Aug 13, 2008

Hello,

My Iphone has a problem, every time the 3G signal is low my calls drop, the iPhone isn't able to switch networks without the call being dropped. This is quite a nuisance, sometimes I lose a few calls in a matter of minutes, is there a way of mending this situation?

Thank you for your help.

-   The typical BS stall tactics are:
1- Power the phone on and off
2- Make sure you have the latest upgrades
3- Replace the SIM card
4 - Reset the networks settings
5 - Reset the phone
6- Replace the phone

I just hope they figure out a fix, even a huge discount on a new iphone that works as a phone not just the i.
If they do not the Groundswell is going to bury this relationship!!!
Verizon and the iPhone would have been total dominance.

This is how I fixed my iPhone and it isn't dropping calls anymore. Try plugging into your computer and opening iTunes. Click update and update your firmware.

Ever since I did this, things were fine. If this doesn't work, do go into the Apple store. Honestly, if you've got the 3G you need to go in anyways to replace your power adapter. You should've received a text on this, but more details on power adapter recall are available here: http://www.computerworld.com.au/index.php/id;151012559

The iphone 3G is a lemon. The only way of mending the situation is to return it for a refund and get a different phone. I've gone through 3 iphone 3G's and they all have the same problem. The Apple people in my mall refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem and the AT&T people tell me to turn off the 3G! Then why even have it? I finally a got guy at AT&T to admit (secretly) that it's a hardware problem and not something that could be fixed with software patch. He said the sh*t is gonna hit the fan and that they're just buying time to figure out what to do. When I was in AT&T a few days ago to cancel my account and get a refund there were at least 6 other people canceling their accounts for the same reason. Now I'm back on the Blackberry until Apple gets their sh*t together.
