I am trying to set the codes in for my daewoo tv/vcr combo I have an GE universal remote. I have been able to partially sink the remote but my tv is on the aux. input where i have a dvd plugged in. I cant change the input channel back to cable. my remote will power on and off and i can turn the volumn up but not down. Please help

Program a GE Universal Remote Using Code Search Make sure the device for which you want to program the remote is turned on, and that the GE universal remote has good working batteries in it. Batteries that are weak may keep the universal remote from being programmed. Press and hold the Setup or Code Search button. Again, the name of the button will vary between GE universal remote models. Once the indicator light is lit, you can stop pressing the button. Press the button with the name of the device for which you want to program the GE universal remote (such as TV or DVD) and release it immediately. The indicator light should flash a time or two and then simply stay lit. Now all you have to do is point the GE universal remote at the device you selected, press the Power button and release it. The catch is that if the device does not turn off, you must wait at least two seconds and try again. The GE universal remote will attempt to program the right code for the device, cycling through all of its built-in codes. This can take up to 250 attempts. When the universal remote (finally) catches the right code and is programmed, the device will power off. Hello, on some of these combinations you might have to try not only the TV codes on your universal remote list, but also the DVD or VCR codes also. One of these three will program your universal remote, but make a note: you may have a partial function on your remote ie: power, but no volume control or channel scan(up/dn) or no number operation(0-9). This happens on some of the universal remotes not all of them. thanks!

I used code 191 for my combo unit

I don't know if you guys even need this advice anymore, as it's 1-2 years late, but if your universal remote has a VCR setting, the Emerson 13" CRT TV/VCR combo I have operates under that mode.
The code I used was 002. These may also work: 278, 184, 479, 000, 121, 211, 037, 043, 061, 208
Remember, program your remote as if you were setting up a VCR (and NOT a TV). For instance, on my GE universal, I hold the "code search" button down until I get a steady light. I hit VCR, and then I entered 002. Works like a charm.
