Very interesting! I have the *exact* same problem! The computer is 14 months old. Damned 1-year warranties!

Has anyone found a source for replacement motherboards? (Even an if it's an upgrade, that's fine. It's just an unusual form-factor.)

Just a comment for colliewob, and others.

The AP2000 is an all-in-one system, there is no video card - it's onboard.

My AP2000 just did the same thing yesterday, running fine at noon, came back 5pm black screen, no boot, nothing working. The USB keyboard (stock) lights do not change, which should if the PC starts to BIOS. I suspect the serial controller is dead, and second guess is onboard video.

Either way, it is likely the system is junk, unlikely to get a replacement mb 2 years after manufacture. This model is no longer made.

Remove video card and try another one. If this does not work
remove everything from M/board except for Memory and video this means Hard drives cd dvd Modem etc and try to boot ensure you have a known working video card if it fails to boot to bios screen from previous experience your M/board has had it and is no good

Hello! My PC crashed once, and i can't reboot it. It aborts while " initializing usb.. " directly after starting. (Win7)

if there are any external HDD attached unplug them before you boot.. try that first...if that doesn't work,..reboot..then press F12 or F2 ( you might have to tap-tap to get into settings ) to go into bios settings. disable boot from usb and make sure that the boot setup starts with the cd-rom first then the HDD 2nd and nothing 3rd.and if that fails... hopefully you made a back up/repair disc. use that...9/10 times it will fix what the problem is.

Trying to boot pc from cd but it only boots normal way . Ofc i changed boot prio ..but nothing happends, any idea whats wrong ?

Try booting up with a windows98 bootable disk. If it displays the BIOS, select default settings and try to boot in safe mode & try restoring it to a time when it worked properly................sodeep
PS: Use a CD/DVD cleaner CD to cleam the optical head of the ROM

This guy had the same problem due to the wrong jumper setting (as shipped from the factory). The way I read it, the computer just isn't booting:

Acer daulcore processer motherboard model mcp61sm-am

ok fair enough.... boot the computer and watch the screen.... you need to watch for the key to enter setup.... delete key seems to be the most popular but i've had computers use f1 and f2, f11 and f12.... if it goes to fast hit pause as it gets to the point where it tells you the key to hit to enter setup.... after you are in change the boot sequence to boot to cdrom..... hit f10 and save the changes... reboot to the cd and continue with your install

Help nothing on display

Are you able to press F8 and try safe mode? Did anything change as far as video when it stopped working? Do you have another monitor to try? A bootable CD is an excellent idea. You may need to go into the BIOS and change the boot order but usually putting a bootable disk in the drive will make it boot off the CD. Look around the BIOS settings and make sure everything looks ok there too. Probably not a solution, just things to try.
