The usb connection on my new Tevion 5705 won't read the music from my usb key. the usb key has been re-formatted to a FAT, and then a FAT32, file system and we have then copied the DOS files onto the usb key along with music files in mp3 & W4ma types though we still can't seem to get the Tevion 5705 car radio to read the music from the usb key when inserted. We keep getting an 'Error 13' message, can someone please help

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Nakamichi NA1610 won't play USB mp3 files, USB format is FAT32. I've tried 2g - 28g USB's all FAT32 with no joy. The manual say's it only play's FAT32 & FAT16 format. Any idea's?

whats the rev level of your mp3 files ? (number after file name and mp3 . ??) if its past say point 4 then nope its not gonna work , how can something made before the software was written be able to read it ? that be like a one year old child being able to write a novel !! it just cant be done .
the formats that u speak of are whats on the usb stick and how the files are layed out on them , that's why they call em file allocation tables (fat)
try using a media converter software on your mp3 files (to slow them down a bit ) then I bet it works !

You need to format the hard drive to FAT32 and then copy your 80Gb of music files to this hard drive.

You formatted the drive first - what format did you use? The HTS3520 can only read FAT or DOS formats (FAT-32 is the newest format that the unit can read.) (Most USB flash drives come with a FAT32 format.)

Alternatively, you could burn the upgrade files to a CD-R.

We are converting from a PC to an iMac. We backed up all files to the flash drive which is a NTFS format. I soon discovered the MAC is not compatible with it and I cannot transfer my files. It seems...

The MAC can read PC formatted USB flash drives BUT the USB flash drive MUST be formatted in FAT32 not NTFS.
I have a MAC and I also transfer photos from my PC to my daughter's MAC notebook.
You can also transfer files from the MAC to the PC using these FAT32 formatted USB flash drives.

I have usb conection in my car stereio.and it wont read the sandisk fuze

The USB connection on your car's stereo is for listening to songs copied onto a USB flash drive.
The USB drive should be formatted in FAt or FAT32 and its size may also be limited to only 1GB although newer models are capable of reading higher capacity drives.
It will not read music from your Fuze as it is not of a correct format.

Phillips 1TB HDD problem, playing movies hrough DVD player (USB)

My question would be are the movies in the right format. Just because they play on your computer does not mean they will play on you DVD.NTFS or FAT 32 would have no bearing on this. They are simply data per sector protocols and are related to magnetic storage devices. You may need the proper codec for you computer so it can make a DVD you player can play.

Micro SD problem loading music

Just a guess, but I'm thinking the problem may lie in the format of the media. Try to format in FAT32. Also make sure that the full card is used ( don't do only 500mb or such ) FAT file system used to only allow a certain amount of space for
(F)ile (A)llocation (T)ables, and I think only a certain length of file names ( I'm thinking 8 character ), while FAT32 allows for 32 character file names, and allows for more FAT table information. I wouldn't ty NTFS if it does allow, as some portable devices do not read them, but fat and fat32 should be universal...
