Is it making ice? Frost on this line is not that uncommon as it is colder than the air around it. Make sure you have good water flow over the evap plates. machine may just need a good chemical cleaning.

This is the manual for your machine. Check out the pages that have examples of the nameplate information. It shows that the machine is approved for UL and NSF. Otherwise, I would suggest contacting Hoshizaki directly.
excessive freeze cycle=60 minutes. In almost every case, it's the water valve (sometimes called the fill valve) is leaking water continually into the sump. Turn machine off and see if you can still hear water running into the unit. If so, it the valve leaking. Just replace it. http://www.hoshizakiamerica.com/manuals/KM-500M_E_serv.pdf
Go to this site and download you copy of the service manual. It has lots of good stuff.. Let me know if I can be of any further help.
Remove the cover where the persons finger is and check to make sure that it is not covered with ice. Sounds like your machine iced oup and you will need to clean the coils and possibly replace the thermostat
My ice machine Hoshizaki km-500 mah is cycling to fast. Causing poor production of ice it's real small and it doesn't produce enough ice aswell. Wha seems to be the problem.
Look at water solenoid valve when the unit is running in ice mode. Check to see if the water is shuting off completely. If the water valve does not close properly it will keep adding a little bit warm water to the ice a slow down the ice production.
