Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
Make sure that he is playing on a server that has the "friendly-fire" option turned off. or let him test it by shooting a teammate until he kills his teammate.
if this doesn't solve the problem, you might want to check if his CD has scratches. I've been researching the web and I keep getting complaints that players lose data due to faulty discs.

It is probably because he was killing teammates. "friendly-fire". he is probably joining on servers that have the "friendly-fire" turned on. try making him join on "TD" (team-deathmatch) servers that do not have the friendly fire option activated.
