Question about Refrigerators

2 Answers

New GE profile refrigerator bottom freezer model pfss6pkwass. Will not run, stuck in display mode. Lights are on but when setting temp on panel it goes back to off after a few seconds. After spending 2000.00 at best buy they cannot send a tech out for three days to unlock the display mode. (of course they took my old fridge that was working fine) Any help would be great.

I have the same problem! The fridge display has been showing "OFf" for 24 hours now and IT IS NOT GETTING COLDER! So frustrating! What to do? The instructions say NOTHING about this!

Ok, I had the same problem with this fridge. It is in "demo" mode. You have to push in and hold the Energy Save and Adjust Freezer buttons at the same time. Hold these in until the display starts flashing. You should hear the compressor kick on. I did this, and it was fixed and started cooling in a matter of seconds.

Thanks. I used it on my Sansung ref - hold down the energy save and the alam botton for 10 sec.
    and it worked.

Not sure if the compressor is running. If not, you'll need a repair man. Since fans are running, most likely the thermistor. Also, if you haven't unplug from the wall, wait 10 seconds then plug back in; this may reset the control board. The link below may help. GE Refrigerator Not Cold Enough

Refrigerator and Freezer lights do not work and all display lights are not working either, but fridge and freezer are working.

Hi i'm sean I work for GE as an employee, this is a bad control board located in the rear of the refrigerator behind an access panel, you will want to change this as soon as possible it will possibly cause damaged to your sealed system on this model if prolonged in that condition. The board usually runs between 175.-200.

has a FF error shown up on your display. If so that is your freezer fan, and if not it still might be the FF motor is running to slow.

Cannot get the fridge to start cooling

If the panel temperature reads 0 F 0 F it is in the "DEMO" mode. This is normal if you purchase a floor model. To bring it back to normal mode press ENERGY SAVER & ADJUST FREEZER together for 3 to 5 seconds until it beeps. Then unplug the referidgerator for at least 30 seconds. Then plug it bck in. That will reset the stupid computer and get it back to normal operation.
