Hi

The 'turn power off then back on' error is generally indicates a problem with the power source. I suggest you move the PSC to another power source. If the problem persists there may be an issue with the power module on the unit. You can return it, test it there. It ther problem is also present exchange the unit for another. You may want to test it at the store before heading home.

Error c00f0401

I have faced the same problem. Eventually I switched off the power, unplugged the cable connecting the printer to the computer, plugged the cable back into the computer and switched on the power again. Much to my surprise the printer performed a self test and worked again. I do keep seeing this error code, but the above "procedure" seems to work for me. Goodluck!

Turn the printer off
Hold down # and 6 while turning it on
Keep holding it down until it finishes turning on.
If that doesn't work then do the same thing using # and 5.

C00f0401 error code

I have a solution that works.

But first the background: I have an older model HP G85 printer that's a real workhorse and I love it but when I lost power that c00f0401 code came on and I couldn't clear it. So I called HP support and found them USELESS. A search of the Internet tells you to hit the #6 keys to clear it. Some say hit #9 to clear it and others say to hit #5 keys and still others tell you to disconnect the 'self-feeder' tray cable. I eventually cleared it by hitting the #9 key while simultaneously pressing the ON button. I did that about 50 times then it cleared itself and worked fine for a year. However last week I again lost power and when the power came back on again I couldn't clear it no matter how many times I tried.

SO HERE'S MY LATEST CURE and it worked several times in a row--so I think it will always work in the future.

1. Turn printer off
2. With your left hand hond down simultaneously the 5, 6, 9, and # keys an rhytmically press those keys up and down, up and down, (at the rate of about 3 times a second). AND AT THE SAME TIME: Use a finger from your right hand and press the on/off button rhytmically (at the rate of about 3 times a second). Eventually the INITILIZING light will stay light---then take all your fingers off all keys.
3. After waiting a short time (a minute or son) the computer initializes itself and it works fine.

Anyway, it worked for me each time I tried it. I hope it works for you.
