Question about HP Pavilion a1010n (PS563AA) PC Desktop

1 Answer

Desktop will not load up

My desktop went down while i was in iraq, my wife took it to a shop and they said they fixed it. i just got back and it hasn't worked since i have returned. it is a hp pavilion a1000n. i picked it up a few months before deploying and it was working fine before i left. when i turn it on sometimes the screen turns on, sometimes not. if it does turn on it's black screen that goes to windows xp screensaver logo. the times the screen turns on the keyboard will respond if i hit the caps or number lock keys. i have taken the comp apart to see if everything is connected right inside, but don't know how to tell if all the cables are going to the right areas and all that. is it not hooked back up correctly? video card going out? any ideas?

The computer should be fine, make sure there is no dust covering the fan or inside the computer. If not you can use the recovery disc that came with the computer, or a Windows XP cd to fix your installation, if that is the problem.

My acer keeps beeping when turned on.

My wife's laptop did that too, she took it too a technician and they needed to replace the hard drive. But maybe yours could be different. Just take it to someone that can fix it.

in the run: type in msconfig that should load all your orginals back to normal but it sounds like your computer might be infected by malware because it's hiding your icons you use on a everyday basis. once there in msconfig hit normal not dianositc.

Sounds like an overheating problem. May want to remove the processor and check the heat sink material. While you have it out you can clean the fan and the heat sink. Make sure your air flow isnt blocked in any way and neaten up the cables if necessary. You could also consider adding another fan.

Hp desktop wont start

I think you have more than one problem there. Take it to a local PC repair shop and have them check it out. Five years is a good age for a computer though so you may want to think about buying a new one. Best of the Irish Luck to yer.

Its on my wifes toshibe satellite notebook. The screen went to gray and now won't load windows or when use restore disk the same problem

Sounds like the display has gone bad. Most likely the inverter, which supplys high voltage to the tube that lights up the screen.

Does a monitor hooked up to the laptop display properly? If so this pretty much confirms that it is the display that is faulty. The only fix I can comfortably recommend to the do-it-yourselfer is to take it in for repair, though you may be better off replacing the whole laptop.

No Sound

carefully plug back the minijack for the speaker at the out or spk,
normally the sound card has three ports 1. for MIC 2. LINE IN 3.OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
carefully plug the minijack for the speaker into the third one - OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
in pluging it in, first put on a media clip on the windows media player and carefully plug in the minijack for the speaker and surely you will hear sound.
