Recently I have been noticing water leakages on the bottom of the washer after a cycle. Not sure if it should be repaired or if it is the end of the road after 9 years of dependable usage.

When my Whirlpool washer reaches the rinse cycle...I get nothing. I have also had water coming out of the bottom of the unit. Mine is also 9 years old.

    not drain

whirlpool heavy duty super capacity not draining completely - it rinses, spins, drains, rinses, spins, drains - but then at the end the clothes are wet with about 2 inches of water left at bottom

On medium water level, for cotton loads and perma press, it fills with water, agitates, and then stops. The water doesn't drain out. I don't know if its a good idea to manually advance the control dial past rinse to spin... and what the problem is. I don't know anything about mechanical things and I don't have money to fix it right now. Maybe my neighbor can help, but it is better to have an idea what might be broken....thanks.

I just took the pump off the bottom of the motor. The pump is at the bottom of the machine. If you're handy, lay the machine on its back and remove the pump as follows: it is held by two clips that come right off, the pump is then connected to two hoses the one from the tub and the one to the drain, squeeze the hose clips with pliers move the clips up the hose off the pump, grab the hose ends and work them off the pump one at a time, they can be a bit stiff, don;t break the hoses or you'll have to replace that too. We are on our way to find a new pump and see if that solves the problem. The pump appears to have a crack in a worn out place. I believe this will solve the problem, it probably has no pressure with the worn place to pump the water out fast enough. I would like to know iof there is a filter to clean out that could be a problem too..

Well you can check the capacitor with a meter for farads, but it sounds like you have a clutch and/ or gearcase failure causing the motor to overheat. The second thing to do is unplug the washer and check the timer. I would right after the agitation to inspect for heat and burnt connections.

Kenmore Super Capacity stuck on rinse

Krom, sounds like the machine is syphoning. Check the drain hose and make sure there is a air gap and that it is not too far down the standpipe or drain. To test it hold the drain hose right at the drain top and see if the problem stops...Catriver...post back.
