Question about Motorola Mobility V551

1 Answer

Text messaging My daughter lost her phone and we pulled one of the famly's old ones out of moth balls. We installed a new SIM card. Works well, but battery's weak...needs to be charged daily. The problem: after a few weeks, the phone stopped sending text messages (it still receives them). The phone acknowledges it was unable to send. Could this be battery related. I don't want to spend $35 on a battery if a vital part of the phone is broken. Is there anything else I could check?

Try doing a master reset first on your phone, it could be that the settings for sending messages is different from your previous sim card....

Check for message settings... and look for an SMS center number... once you found that option on your phone, contact your service provider for the correct SMS center number.. =)

'Insert SIM'

If you are trying to use an old sim-card from another phone you may find that it won't recognize it.

The older sim cards just aren't up to the job the newer handsets require so now we have more powerful and higher voltage sim-cards.

Try a sim card from a friend with a new handset and see if that works in your phone.

You may have to go get a new sim.

How do I change the SIM card in my BB Pearl 8130

Take SIM card out of old phone and put it into the new phone, however first of all you need to backup your old device.

Download the Desktop Manager and connect via USB cable and backup old handset, insert usb into new phone and restore to new phone thus moving all data from old to new.
