Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer receiver (Model # VSX-1016TXV) and the MCACC indicator is flashing. The manual says to check for loose strands or loose wire speakers. I have completely disconnected the unit from all the speakers, yet the indicator is still flashing. Can anybody provide assistance.

    Appreciate the help Nate...

So right now the unit is completely disconnected and it still flashes. So I'll assume it is an error code. And by the way, the system had been working for the last 2 years.

As for the speakers -- I had it hooked up to a 5.1 Bose Acoustimass speaker system. So altoghether there were 5 speakers and the subwoofer that were hooked up to the receiver.

I also had sound from my PC hooked up to it as well.

And I had an digital optical cable that was hooked up to my satellite system.

It sounds like I may shorted something in the receiver. Not sure if this is something I can fix on my own...

I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-52TX, and it's doing the same thing. The only thing that the manual says is to take it to a Service Center. Anyone have any clues as to why thins is happening? I've had this for about 3 years without any troubles.

    Thanks!

Can you tell if its a error code. Also what kind of speakers are you hooking up and what connector style?

if there is a short somewhere this could be your problem as it seems that on this model it is the overload protection. So it may have been overloaded and needs to be serviced or you need to ensure there is no short. if you can provide me with more information i will be glad to be of more assistance.

thanks,

Nate

no i dont recommend fixing it giving the make it may be cheaper to replace. But i know around me there are a few good inexpensive local repair shops. Depending what it could be it could be $25-100 or more its hard to say.

try pressing and holding 'advanced surround' and the power button. This should reset the protect circuit. If it turns off again right away, then there is a problem with the amp that needs to be repaired.

My pioneer vsx 921 switched off while playing loud. ADv MCACC is flashing and it is not powering on? What could be the problem?

Your unit is locked in protection mode. Hold the advanced surround button and the power button to turn it back on. If it shutdown right away, then you shorted out the amp and need to take it in for repair.
