Question about Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z850 Digital Camera

LCD repair/replacement? Any idea what typical cost is for new LCD? For the cable connection suggested by Sweet Rascal? And give me an idea of frequency of this problem? Did anything I did in picture taking cause it? Better to send it in to Casio, or use some local service? (I have no idea how long it will be out of service by sending it in...)

If you're handy enough, you can try replacing the screen yourself. A supplier is selling replacement LCD screens for the Z750/Z850 for around $60 (shipping included). I also found on youtube a video of someone performing the actual replacement http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVMzSvI2G-w. If you haven;t purchased a rnew camera already, checkout whether buying a another camera would be more cost effective than forking over 60 bucks to fix it yourself.

HP Photosmart R927 LCD screen has no color. Any idea what may have caused this and how can I fix it?

Defective CCD image sensor or LCD screen go to bad. Read this ans try to test it; it is the device that responsible for capturing the image when the shutter is released and seems to be malfunctioning in dimly lit areas. There is no other solution to this problem apart from getting the image sensor replaced. Not sure how much Samsung charges for the fix in your area, so it might be a good idea to get a quote from them before you decide whether to send it in for repair.

I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Canon service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Hope helps.

PV-DC152D CAMCORDER, LCD Display only works if it is pulled out, turned 180 degrees and pushed back into place so the display is facing you. If you move the LCD display over 3/4" away from camcorder...

The most likely problem is a cracked ribbon cable that goes between the camera and the display. The cable needs to be replaced. Typical cost for this is around $40 or so plus labor. I would not suggest that you attempt this repair yourself as opening up these units is not easy without experience. Also, there are cables that can be damaged if opened incorrectly.

My kodak easyshare c603 has a deffect in lcd where can i get the lcd to be replace ?

Repair cost is too much. Do it yourself.
Buy a used camera (one sold for parts) from EBAY.com. You may be able to get it very cheap. Then replace the LCD from the one you bought to your old one. A new LCD screen from shop will be expensive. I wont advice you to get a new one.
The only tool you need a small screwdriver set (buy it for $1 from Dollar store). Remove the camera cover by removing 5-6 screws. Once the cover is removed, LCD is accessible. The LCD cable is connected through a connector to the main board. There is a pressure plate in the connector, simply lift it and pull the cable out and remove your LCD. That simple. Replace in the reverse order.

Canon Powershot SD750 powers up fine; lens extends fine. The LCD is black. I can see a faint image - enough to enter the menu and change settings. Increasing brightness has no effect. Seems like the screen...

It's not the screen, but its backlight that is the problem. It's likely a poor connection of the ribbon cable in its connector socket. This problem will require either professional repair, or your opening the case to reseat the backlight ribbon cable in its connector. Here's a disassembly of a somewhat similar SD600 to give you an idea of what's involved.

I have a Canon Powershot S3 IS that I absolutely love. My lcd screen and viewfinder have gone blank(black). My batteries are new. Any suggestions?

This is the type of problem that requires troubleshooting by a service technician. Check the Canon site for an authorized service site. Give them a call and describe the problem. Chances are high that you will have to take/send the camera in for service. The service center can also give you an idea of the repair cost.
Sorry that there is not an easy answer to your question.

What does "lid open" mean on the lcd screen? If this happens, can't take picture.

This means either your battery lid is not properly closed. Or the camera lens lid is closed. If camera lens lid is closed you cant take any photo. there will be some knob like thing which you can use to open the lid.

Let me know if you need more help.
Thanks

I have a scatched lense and a crack in the LCD panel can this be fixed

Absolutely, but be sure to get a firm price before you commit to anything. The fix can often approach the cost of a new camera, and repairs typically only carry a 30-day warranty. I suggest you take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department in a chain store) or contact Canon customer service via their web site to arrange repairs.

Having a hard time getting the battery out - it seems stuck and i have to force it out with a tool. Will replacing the battery fix that problem?

hi, you are right sir. this battery sticking is due to bulging of the old battery. this happens due to ageing and over charging of battery. this kind of battery is very harmful for the camera. this may cause leakage of battery in the battery slot, which may lead to a big repair from the technician. sooner you replace the battery safer you will be. thank you sweet rascal

My LCD screen on back is cracked and needs to be replaced. Is this fixable? Sanyo model VPC-E870

It is definitely fixable and fairly easy to do BUT you will spend more money to get the replacement screen than a new camera. You will need to order the screen from Sanyo repair or support. They may not sell to you as you are not a registered repair depot. Best bet is to call the closest repair depot and find the repair cost. Then find the replacement cost. You will probably find the new camera is cheaper and will have better features and so on. This is typical for any camera and most small electronics these days.
