I have an iomga hard drive and it recently stopped working properly. its no longer recognized under mycomputer. i can find it under device manager but not disk manager. ive tried multple computers and different usb cables. i can still hear the disk spinning but just cant find a way to open up the hard drive. some one please help!!

check to see that it is listed under MyComputer, if not, go to device manager and see if it is listed and working normally.
If so, the drive may be defective and will need replacing.

Right click MyComputer and select Manage. Look for Storage on the right and select Disk Management. Find your drive and format the partition by right clicking it and selecting Format. Use NTSF, default allocation size then give the drive a letter or name. After that it should show up in MyComputer.

This sounds like a single drive with multiple partitions that's working properly. Just because it doesn't identify the device by name doesn't mean its stopped working. Have you lost drive letters? Also, if it stopped working then you wouldn't be able to boot Windows unless you have multiple drives with some type of redundancy like a RAID array that's mirrored. : ) You can right click My Computer or just Computer IIRC in the later OSs and Manage to bring up your management console. Go to Hard Disk management and check what's active and if you have any drives/partitions that haven't been assigned a letter. This is the place to tell you more about your drives than you probably knew was possible. Good luck!

If you go into Administrative Tools, Computer Management, you will see a tree for disk management. It should be listed there - probably without a drive letter..
You can partition and format there.

To get to administrative tools: Go into your control panel - click on classic view and it is one of the top options.

try going to your control panel/administrator tools then computer managment, look on the disk managment under storage. you might have to set it up in there or asign a drive letter to it.

you are not going to find that, since those sandisks came AFTER W98 had gone unsupported..

usb issues are under control panel, system device manager..check for conflicts or blown drivers
