check the coil for spark if you dont have spark replace coil if you do it is either plugged fuel filter or carb needs cleaning

My lawn mower wont start.i just used it last week and it was fine.today i wanted to cut the grass so i took it out and it ran for 2 minutes then stopped running. now it wont start. its a yard machine model...

You need to prime the motor with the fuel in order to start the lawn mower. Here are two links for you that will tell you how to do that.

My 2 stage yard machine wont stay running. if i keep priming it with the choke on it will go but as soon as i stop it dies.

You need to take the carb off and clean it out and rebuild it or replace it with a new one.

Brand new lawn mower will start but stall after about 4 seconds. it will continue to run if i keep pushing the prime button.

You have a fuel restriction. Usually you have to disassemble the carb and clean it, but sometimes you can remove the air filter, rev up the motor, somehow, and place hand over intake. this sometimes will **** the restriction through.

Push mower starts, then dies, ad nauseum

Guessing you have a briggs and stratton motor with a tank mounted carb.Remove the tank and carb. from the mower and replace the rubber diaphram between the carb. and tank and clean it while its off

My lawn mower starts easily, then shuts down. each time I prime it, it strts again easily, then stops. If i continually prime it, it will keep running. any ideas?

disassemble the carb and make sure the float valve is not sticking

Where is the carb on a yardman 6.5 hp?

It will be by the push to prime button, and under the air filter.

Try removing the brass bolt that holds the float bowl on the carburetor and cleaning ALL the tiny holes in it. Use no metal objects on it as it is also the main jet of the carburetor. Carb/Choke Cleaner aerosol spray works well here. Pay close attention to real small holes near the top in the unthreaded portion of the bolt. Remember, no scraping with metal and no metal wires thru it.
