Question about Toshiba 14DLV75 14 in. TV/DVD Combo
Look at the 'wall wart' transformer case.
it should state the input voltage and frequency (110-115-120 - not important) and probably also 60Hz.
It should also have the output specs such as:
12VAC or 12VDC @ some amps or milliamps.
If it says the output is AC, then the TV might not be able to handle DC input although it wouldn't make sense if it couldn't; why supply with 12VAC if it was intended to be portable?
That the coax connector got hot is a baaad thing; that may mean that your boat is positive ground but that would be rare.
The shell of the antenna connector is certainly tied to the chassis and the negative side of any external input.
The input connector itself may be at fault if it is not the typical - shell / + center contact.
Just some things to check and yes, you may have damaged something inside but it could be only a fuse or a protective diode; either would be cheap to replace.
