There is two power sources to head units, one is a constant that makes the unit remember the time and such and the other is to actually run the unit. So am I correct to assume that the unit does not come on when the car is turned on? If so, check the wiring for the ignition

Check a few things. Make sure the head unit is getting power. Then make sure that your RCA cables are connected to the right output RCA's fromt the head unit. If this is ok, check to make sure the RCA cables didn't get crimped somewhere. If this is still all ok, check the volume on the unit and to see if you have the unit on mute. Sometimes it's little things like that. Did you adjust any settings to the amp? If so, check the gains. Hope this helps.

Hello c92bivens,

While your KD-G320 does not have a specific subwoofer output, Kenwood did make provisions for adding one. There are two stereo pairs of line outputs on the back, one each for front and back. On the set for the rear, you can select a "line output mode" of "REAR" for normal speakers, or "WOOFER" for operating a sub.

Page 14 of your owners manual details the setting procedure while page 31 shows the connections. The manual incorrectly refers to the FRONT line outputs on page 14. Use the REAR line outs instead. If you do not have a manual, you can download the PDF version here at Crutchfields's web site. Ignore the "DISCONTINUED" notice (it's an old head unit), and scroll down the left just under "What's in the box" and click the "download owners manual" link.

Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa".

While testing before final installation of the JVC KD-G240 CD Player, the only power I can get is to eject a disc and temporarily display the time. I cannot turn the unit on. After pressing the reset...

This is an indication that the "ACC" line is not getting the 12 volts to turn on the radio. Check the fuses, it may have blown one. The "ACC" is the red wire that comes off the back of the radio harness. It needs a 12 volt supply when the key is turned on for the radio to work properly. When this is missing, you will have the conditions you have described. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volts even when the radio is off and the car is off. Since you do get the eject and the clock display you have a good ground, so that is not an issue. You just need to find out why you do not have the 12 volts on the red wire when the key is turned on in the car.

My JVC KD-S25 will only turn on when I press the eject button, and then it shuts off in 5 seconds.

I just bought this stereo and installed it the other day. I had the same issue. Hook the Yellow power wire and the red accessory power wire to the same power source. That solved my problem.

How do I remove my JVC KD-AR880?

if you still have all the hardware that came with it your should have 2 L shapped peices of metal, all you have to do is pop off the plastic ring around the deck and you should be able to see slots on either side of the deck, all you have to do is slide the metal dealys in the slots and then you should be able to slide the deck right out.
