Re: great problem with router zhone 6218
I assume that you're not prompted with the log in screen. if so, you need to check if your computer is properly connected to the LAN/ethernet port of the router (Note: you need to use a hardwired computer if you want a stable connection while checking your wireless settings) and if it has a valid ip address which shoud be within the subnet of the router's ip address (Note: by default the router's ip address is 192.168.1.1 and "admin" is the default username and password)
if you're not sure of the current ip address of the router. go to command prompt and type ipconfig. it'll list there the default gateway which is the router's ip address.
now if you have checked that the computer has a valid ip address and it is properly connected to the router but you can't still access the router's page, there could be a program that is blocking the connection. try to disable any firewall or any antivirus programs installed on your computer.
hope this'll help you. you can click here for the manual if you would like to read some more about the router.

YOU CAN RESET THE ROUTER TO FACTORY SETTINGS You may reset router to factory setting from the reset button on the
back side of the router. Use a paper pin to press the button for few
seconds, the lights on the front would blink and the router would
restart with factory setting. Please not that ALL SETTING WOULD BE
LOST...AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO MAKE CONFIGURATIONS AND SETTING ALL OVER AGAIN
Here is the link to official Zhone support site for further detail (if required) HOPE IT HELPS...Let me know if you need any further assistance CreativeTECH
Try to configure you router with WPA authendication. provide some encryption password,if asked. Then configure your lifebook with manual ip by wifi adapter ->network settings-> tcp/ip properties - > specify manual IP something like 192.168.1.2 Now try connecting to your router. It should ask for network key and will connect if key provided matches with the one configured.
You'll need to forward the port you have selected in your BT client (you can set it / checj ut in uTorrent: Ctrl+P -> Connection -> Port used for incoming connections. It should be something between 40000-52000.) to accept incoming connections.
Unfortunatly there is no guide for your router model, but you can help with this one http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Zhone/6218-12-200-0TT/6218-12-200-0TTindex.htm, also port forwarding is referenced in your owners manual, so you should check that too.
if you go to the link you can read the manual.
when you open this link you will see the pages at the top of the page just click on the pages and it will let you read it. Zhone 6218 I2 User Manual
