Hi, my Candy Nova CN105 washing machine seems to be giving up the ghost. It doesn't want to spin, although at a certain point while it's stalled if you give it a quick thump on the bottom right of the door it will start again - but not at any great speed. So, please help with soggy washing not getting properly washed or spun. i think the machine is about 10/11 years old now and I've had it since new. Many thanks for your anticipated help. EM

Since your washer is an older model and has seen its best days, you really need to check each of these parts. Anyone of these can cause the spinning issue, even if it is draining normal. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive or spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.

More then likely, a part has wore out. I don't believe it is anything electrical because the machine still spins, just not like it should.

Thanks very much for the info - will attempt to check these parts.

Candy grand o go482/2-80 very noisy when spinning

The manufacturer, "Candy Products" http://www.candy-domestic.co.uk/about_us/Default.aspx is more likely to provide an authoritative answer than anyone else. They seem to manufacture their own machines, answers based on experience with other makes and models are of no value to you in regard to this question.

the foregoing aside, what one man has made, another man can also make, or repair. It is extremely unlikely that Candy paid to have an exotic one of a kind bearing made for this washer. However, even if the bearings are a common industrial part, that doesn't mean that removing and replacing them is easy or cost efective, or even the cause of the noise.

Unless you have more expertise than your question implies, perhaps you should ask to have a Candy repairman diagnose the noise and if your diagnosis is confirmed give you seperate prices for the bearings and the installation of same. From that you can discern how long the professional repairman familar with the machine would require to do the work, and you should double or triple it to estimate how long it will take someone unfaniliar with the machine to do it

I have a candy CN105 washer 1000rpm and when it gets near the spin cycle at the end of a wash it stops before the spin and also sometimes during a wash cycle the dile starts moving round on its own so i...

Sounds like you need a new timer board/control package.
Most parts for modern washers cost almost as much as the thing is worth.
Then after you invest a lot of time and money you still have an older junk washer. Unless it's a simple filter or rubber gasket, I buy a new machine.
In the long run you will be ahead.

Candy Nova CN126T - No hot water

hi This control panel switch regulates the temperature of the water in the tub. It also plays a role in controlling the fill cycle. If you suspect this switch is faulty, remove it and take it to a professional service person for testing (the test takes special equipment). Or, hook a test wire across the switch terminals; if water flows, the switch is faulty. If the switch is faulty, replace it with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch the same way the old one was connected.
If there's a problem with both water temperature and tub filling cycles, both the temperature switch and the timer may be faulty. Test both components and replace them as necessary. Procedures for testing the timer can be found below.
