To resolve this problem, delete the UpperFilters registry value and the LowerFilters registry value. These values may cause access problems. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click OK. 2. Locate and then click the UpperFilters registry value. This value is located in the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E980-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.

Note If you receive an error when you try to delete the registry subkey, you may not have correct permissions to edit the subkey. Hii have just reinstalled my laptop with the vista operating system and i cant seem to connect to the internet

Did you reinstall from the manufacturer-supplied "System Restore" set of CD/DVD disks, or did you install from a "generic" Microsoft Windows Vista DVD? If the former, then the correct device-drivers for the manufacturer-specific hardware should have been automatically installed; if the latter, you'll need to access the manufacturer's "support & downloads" web-site, using a computer that does have Internet access (and either a USB memory-stick or a CD-writer), and download the correct device-driver, copy it to the memory-stick or to CD-R or CD-RW media, and then install the device-driver, by reading the software from the memory-stick or the CD-disk.

Setup is unable to detect card however windows

You aren't very descriptive. Either way. I'm assuming when you say Setup, you are referring to the driver installation setup. Delete/uninstall the driver. Unplug the adapter. Now, start the setup. When the installation goes along, eventually it'll ask for you to insert the card, thats when you insert it. It should then work, if you finish the setup. If thats not the issue. Heres a possibility. You are running windows Vista, or running Windows Vista 64 bit, or maybe XP 64 bit. Either way, you are likely using a 32 bit driver, on a 64 bit machine. Or vise versa. If not then you could be using a vista driver on an XP machine and the XP machine doesn't know what to do with it. I suggest going to dlinks website. There are 3 versions of this wireless card, and that also could be the issue. The first one they released is here http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630 and that only has drivers for XP and 2000. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630_revB rev B. Also only XP and 2000. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630_revC rev C. also again XP and 2000 BUT includes a Vista 32 bit driver. I hope i helped. Not bad for free...

1. Go to http://www.station-drivers.com/page/marvell.htm
and download the Marvell Libertas driver Version 1.0.0.53 date: 10/16/2007

2. Run the self-extracting Zip file to uncompress the driver files

3. Under driver\inf\Vista...\32BITS there is a file called "netmw13b". Copy this file to c:\windows\system32\drivers, overwriting the file that is currently there

4. Reboot Vista

There. Four easy steps. Someone please give this a try and let us know whether it's really that simple.

Notes...

32 bit Vista SP1 will install a May '07 driver which will not allow more than 2Gb RAM .Run InvokeSetup after extracting and v. 1.0.0.53 of the driver will be installed. After doing this I added 2GB more RAM (4GB total) and everything works.

Wi-fi problem

I went to the Proxim website (www.proxim.com) to see if I could find info on the card, but Proxim looks like they make you register before you can get any information.

You probably just need a Vista driver. Go to the Proxim site, register, and see if one is available.

Good luck.
