I updated my BIOS on an HP Pavilion a430n now it wont boot up, the computer starts with the fans running on high. There isn't a boot screen or anything just blank. Help!

Sorry for some bad news, but unless you know someone who would know how to unbrick your motherboard from a bad bios flash.. its gone. They recently came out with new boards that have protected firmware, if anything like this were to happen it would auto reflash the original bios to the board. Hope this helps :-S

Brought acer travel mate back to factory using recovery discs now it wont reboot.I put discs back through with no result

Check the bios settings, in boot settings you must set CD unit as first boot device, then you start PC with recovery disk 1 inside.

Dell 8400 No Boot, not even POST

It sounds like your bios were improperly flashed or went bad. The X300 SE message is your video card. So your video card works, the system mostly works, but the BIOS isn't starting up. You should contact Dell and tell them the situation.

Optiplex GX280 will not boot past post

Worth a shot is to put the bios flash on floppy and see if you can get it to boot from that and if you are very lucky you may be able to re-flash.

If you did take a backup on the last attempt try to get that version of the bios back in first as that was a known good bios.

CAN OPEN MY PC

I'm not sure if you are physically trying to close  your pc, or if you have only set a BIOS password, have forgot it, and need to reset it.  If you have forgotten the BIOS password, you will need to reset the CMOS (BIOS) in order to access the BIOS and change your boot order.
Please provide the make and model of your PC, and I will post instructions on how to reset the password :)

H P Compaq wont boot

Your BIOS should have got Corrupted and it is asking you for the BIOS file. You may have to flash your bios. Go to the Manufacturers site and read the instruction for flashing your bios or upgrading your bios.

Hi, When flashing a BIOS, you would need a bootable diskette (or CD) with basic DOS and the ROM .bin or BIOS update files plus the flashing software. In the CMOS/BIOS setup, you have to instruct the computer to boot first from the floppy diskdrive (or the CD as the case may be). Then run the flashing software/application and type in the filename of the new BIOS. Most modern motherboards no longer uses jumper switches to allow/disallow BIOS writing/update. If for some reason there are jumper switches, perhaps we can confirm if you would post the brand/model/version of the motherboard/computer. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Hope this be of some idea/help. Good luck and kind regards.
