Hey guys...my samsung sgh-u600 cell phone will not show anything on the screen. The phone works fine as i can still make and recieve calls, but i cant see anything at all on the screen...a light does turn on for the buttons and it seems like the background light of the screen even turns on but does not display anything at all...it just stays black/grey no matter what...
is this a software issue or a hardware issue. I cant get anyone to fix it as its an unlocked phone so im stuck with a phone i paid a lot of money for and cant fix it.

It seems that your LCD had failed in the phone and will need a replacement. try to open thefront panel and take out the display then set it back after giving a clean up. make sure the connection of the display is fine and connecting well. Reset the display back and switch on the phone. if the display is still absent try to shake around the connections for any signs of life onthe display. If not you will have to take a chance to make a confirmation by the assistance of the samsung service centre. get an estimate before you can confirm on the work and only if it is feasible. hope you try this out. Good day
Mine is also like this, but I now live in Spain. Will I still be able to take it back to the store when I am next in UK ( still within 12 months of buying it) or will they say they wont replace it, cos I have a Spanish SIM card in it now?
Take the battery out, and with a small watch makers screw driver unscrew the 4 screws you see and their is another two at the end under the cover which you need to pull off. But don't worry as it sticks on.
under the bottom half there is a connection which may have come loose as its only a simple push in clip which tend to come loose.
