I just got a new shine to replace my Razr and when they copied off my address book from my old sim card (130 numbers) and put it on my new card, when the address book was copied to the new phone the remaining 120 spots in the address book were filled with blanks. Now I can delete the blanks and can't edit the blanks. Also when I delete a number that was originally added its gone for good, I can't put it back in the memory on the smart chip. Anyone seen anything like that with these phones? The "customer service reps" can't fix it.

The LG Shine will only save messages to the SIM card after the internal phone memory is full (150 messages). This all happens automatically, and as far as I can tell, there is no way to force the phone to choose. Also, note that the SIM card will only store 30 messages. You can select the options menu
turn the phone on remove the battery cover and remove the battery while the device is still powered on then proceed to remove the sim card and clean the contact surface well with a dust free cloth replace sim card battery and cover. if problem persists contact customer care
On your "my stuff" menu go to pictures. Once you find the picture you want click "options". Then press one on "set as", then click on Picture ID. You will only be able to save to numbers that are stored on your phone, NOT the sim. If you are having trouble with knowing how your phone saves the numbers, then on your address book menu scroll down to view options. Then you will be able to change your settings so your phone can save to your sim and handset or vice versa. If your numbers have only been saving on your sim, then you can copy the numbers onto your handset by using the same address book menu. I hope that helps.
It's not anywhere in the literature. Before you remove the sim from the old phone copy the address book into the old sim. Then take the old sim out of the old phone and then put it in the new phone. Copy from the old sim into the new phone. Then take out the old sim and put in the new sim and copy from the new phone into the new sim. Your all set.
