While Frank I would put the car on ramps and get under the car, Oil filters are locate under the car you really have to look it could be any color do to the company who made it fram is orange, stp blue, and some white. Once you find it be sure to put new oil on rim of new filter before install on the o-ring of new filter.

Mazda Atenza 2006 when to change cambelt or is it chain driven

My data book shows that all Mazda motors around the 2006 year are all chain driven. they include 4 cylinders and V -6 engines . Chains have an aluminium housing on the front of the engine where as belts have a plastic cover . Chains have a hydraulic adjuster which adjusts the chain automatically and the KLM's to do it will depend on the work the engine does and the services it gets . For example if you are a petrol head and forget the services or uses cheap /wrong grade oils then the chain may be noisy at 150.000 klms but if you drive responsibly and change the oil every 10.000 klms and use a good quality oil the chain will last more than 250.000klms. To prevent being taken in future check the accreditation of the mechanic and ask around about the garage's customer relations

We are looking to buy a 2003 Mazda 6 S I was wondering if this engine a V6 has a timing belt or chain thanks Mike

Reading Topic: Timing Chain?? Both the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder use timing chains. These chains are pretty much service free and should last the life of the vehicle. Borrowed from http://forum.mazda6club.com/mazda6-atenza/121169-timing-chain.html
