Re: hoover all terrain dual v spin and scrub 12 amps
All of the hoover cleaners use air to spin the brushes the air intake is probably clogged. There is a Little clear window on the top of the machine pull that off and underneath is a little screen clean that out and that should fix your problem. If the brushes will to spin when you try to turn them by hand remove them from the machine. If the brushes spin ok after removing them the the turbine assembly is seized up and will likely need replaced. If the brushes won't spin when they are removed from machine take the plastic cover off the brushes and clean out the gears.
I am not sure if you have the F7222 or F7452 all terran. There is a plastic piece on the back of the block brush (spin scrubbers) these wear out or break. You may need to replace the block brush. You can find the parts below follow the link. Please don't forget to give positive feedback.
The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a
pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the
water that is running through it. The turbine gear will have to be
You can access the turbine gear by removing the hood. You can find a

below. Just find the model number of your Steamvac.
The primary problem is that the turbine is seized. One way to verify this is to try to manually move the brushes by hand (with it off, unplugged). If not then your problem is with the turbine. This usually requires professional service. I would recommend to take it to a trusted vac shop which is familiar with these cleaners. or go to the hoover web site to locate a hoover dealer near you.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618767&thid=728884 Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub Carpet Cleaner won't... Posted by hoofbeats1 on Jul 01, 2008 My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time). Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi, I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position. It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action.Help Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead. Hoover steamvacs don't use belts. If the brushes are not turning, pull the brush block out, turn the machine on and see if the square hole where the brush block was, is turning. If not then the turbine is bad. Sometimes you can take the turbine apart and clean it out. most times I have found , replace it.
