Problem with dehumidifier

Our Maytag dehumidifier isn't removing humidity; the fan works, but there is no moisture. I'm not sure of the model number because it is at my cottage and I'm not there now.

-   I am having the same problem. This is the second dehumidifier that has worked this way. The motor is running--I guess it is the fan, and the carpet is wet, so I know moisture is present, but there is not one drop of water in the container.-   sallyakins
