My Alante cuts off/stops when I hit a bump. I have to turn it off and restart all over again until i hit the next bump. this is very annoying and dangerous if i hit a bump crossing the street as I am stuck in the middle of the street trying to restart etc. what is happening and how to fix?

this sounds like the blower motor is bad causing it to stop when going over a bump. the brushes in the motor may be worn out.

I would need to hear the noise to diagnose the possible cause.

I chased this problem on a 2005 Silverado about a week ago, and found the switch assy to be inop. This one would stay on hot when you started the engine, then wouldnt modulate when commanded. Sometimes it would change itself while driving. Replaced the switch with a junk-yard peice for 35.00 and its fine now.

I'm not sure of the year but I would say its a loose connection possibly the one to the dash cluster. I'm assuming after you park thenm start again the computer works ok until the next bump

The problem might be in the fuse box. I had this similar problem on my highbeams. My soluion was to wiggle the fuse box and or wires going to the motor. Its basically a short.

Check to see if any of the wire connections are loose.
