I should shoot al lot more that twice. I have put thousands of rounds through my shotgun. If it shoots twice with a single pull of the trigger, you have an illegal machine gun, most likely due to a broken part in the trigger assembly. Get it fixed before you shoot it again. Right now the penalty for even possessing such a device is 10 years in jail.

When was my winchester model 12 16ga shotgun serial#787927 manfactured?

Nicknamed, the Perfect Repeater at its introduction, this shotgun se tthe standard for pump action shotguns throughout its fifty one (51) year high rate manufacture and production life. From 1912 until the shotgun was first discontinued by Winchester in 1963, nearly two million Model 12 shotguns were manufactured and produced in various barrel lengths and grades. Initially the M12 was chambered strictly for 20 gauge, however 12 and 16 gauge versions came out in or around 1914, and the 28 gauge version of the Winchester Model 12 came out in 1934. A .410 version was never produced; instead, a stripped down variation of the Model 12, commonly known as the Model 42, was derived directly from scaled drawings of the model 12 and produced instead. The year of manufacture for serial number 787927 is 1939. hope this helps! im pretty sure that this is right. check it out on the web.

I have a Winchester 7600 from the late 60's that I have never fired. I have just stored it here at home and never really had a use for it. I do not even know what type of ammo it takes. Can anyone tell me?

I think you will find that you have a Remington 7600 pump action rifle chambered in a Winchester calibre round. There may be something inscribed on the barrel with Winchester on it. The numbers with the word Winchester EG: .308 will denote the calibre. Just like a .38 revolver will have .38S&W on it regardless who manufactures it. The name S&W indicates the original patentee of the round. So your Remington 7600 is chambered for a Winchester patent round. The number with it such as 308 or 243 will tell you what ammo it takes.

397 Ben/Sher .177 air rifle - installing repair kit problem

Crosman bought out benjamin / sheridan, and they still repair just all their pump guns. The ring sounds like a piece of a pellet, the barrels are silver soldered to the bottom tube, Not lead. Also, the repair kit should not have too many parts, you can only go so far with those guns before needing special equipment to get them apart. Get a hold of Crosman and tell them that benjamin sent you a bad part. They should fix it.
I had an old Benjamin Franklin in .22 cal, it was just a brass tube with a stock and barrel. I sent it to them, to be repaired, and I wanted the .22, because I had the 5mm and the 177. So I got it back, cost $29, New barrel, in .177, soldered on, new guts, new paint, trigger, bolt, the works.. Brand new gun. I told them I wanted the brass and I wanted the .22, They said oops, sorry. I didn't complain, nice old gun. Hope this helps.

Sighting in red dot shotgun scope

Load your gun up and when you can shoot it, aim with your new glass(Scope) and lay out a group of three slugs, not buckshot, (i'm assuming your shooting a shotgun). Then use some trial and error to tighten your dot to your grouping. I don't blame you for the confusion, but normally, most scopes set up for this adjustment pattern are moving your target according to the knobs, not your crosshairs or dot. Another option you have is to buy a laser bore sighter. then you can play with adjusting your scope for in the field or wherever with much more comfort when you need to. You can find them online at walmart or almost any sporting goods store these days, yes they save ammo and yeas they save time, but i still shoot to make sure i'm dead on after using mine.
