Can get to reset pswd?

I can get as far as reset password in admin and I can't find a key that says yes? Do we have different phones?

HI, I'm assuming you have a Norstar voicemail system.
Press Feature 9 8 1, display shows: Pswd: OTHR RETRY OK, enter your old password, press OK or #, Press ADMIN or 8, display shows: Mailbox Admin, GREET PSWD QUIT, Press PSWD or 4, enter new password, press OK or # to end your password, display shows: Accept password?, Press YES or # to accept your new password, press RLS. I have nortel set T7316 i have tried featues 985 and than its not give me an option to enter 9 nad password i enterd that 73738767793 but it keep sayin invalid password


The 9 option is not offered verbally but it exist. Press the 9 and then enter the 73738767793 at the Pswd prompt and answer the Reset pswd question with YES. The administrator password will be reset to default which is 120000 (2 digit extensions numbers), 1020000 (3 digit extension numbers), or 10020000 (4 digit extension numbers).

Denied access on Nortel T7316E Log# 1020000 will not work..How do I fix this?


Follow this instructions to reset the Administrator password.

Press Feature 985 and dial 9 even though it is not listed as an option.

The display will show Pswd: dial 73738767793

The display will show Reset pswd? Press YES.

You should now be able to enter the default password.

2 digit extensions use 120000

3 digit extensions use 1020000

4 digit extensions use 10020000

I need to change our Auto Attendant message to remove the name of an employee that is no longer with us. I have tried Feature 983 but when I enter the recommended 120000 (we have 2 digit mailboxes) it says...


The best thing to do at this point is to reset the admin. password.
To reset the administrator pasword enter feature 985 press 9, at the password prompt enter 73738767793 (resetsmpwsd) and press ok or #,press yes to reset password. password should be defaulted to 0000. then try Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your password is 120000.

To reset your voice mail password, press feature 983 the screen should say log:
enter 120000 (default password)
the display should say mbox, AA, and othr above the three soft keys
press the mbox soft key
the screen should say add, del, and chng above the soft keys
press the chng soft key
enter in the mailbox number you wish to reset the password on
press ok
the screen should say reset and next above the soft keys
press the reset soft key
press the Rls key
your password should be reset to 0000

Trying to reset the admin password on a Norstar Flash


Does reset pswd come up on the right hand side of the display if so there is a key just below that that you press called the soft key

sounds like you might have a BCM 50 Try feature 983, id:738662, pswd:266344. Hopefully the password wasn't changed.

Extension of vociemail is displayed. Dial 9
PSWD: RESETSMPSWD (73738767793)
Reset PSWD? Press YES
Login will be changed to default (1020000 for 3 digit EXT's or 120000 for 2 digit)

Our mailbox is locked and our extensions have 2 digits


How to Change a Mailbox Password
1. To access the voice mail system press "Feature".
2. Press "983".
3. When you see "Log:" enter "120000" for 2 digit extension numbers.
4. Press "OK".
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".

I am locked out of my mailbox


Here are a couple things to check...

Press Feature * 0 and then press you intercom button - This will identify the extension # of the phone you are using/ This will also identify any button on the phone

assumming your extension is 3 digits;
enter Feature 983 and at the log prompt enter 1020000 then press ok. This is 102 for the mb and 0000 for the password. If you get successfully logged in you can choose mbox then change and then enter your mb # . The first thing you will see is PASSWORD with RESET under password. Press the softkey under reset to rest the password to 0000. Now try to log back into your mb using 0000 as the password.

If you can't get into the admin mb with 1020000 then do this to reset the password for the admin mb..
